Thank you for the additional confirmation. I find it interesting that your reply to Björn drops the 'ö' character in the header name which leaves his full name as pure ascii. It would have been even more interesting if it retained the 'ö' character in his name within the body of the message though.
Having said this, I still think utf-8 messaging should be utf-8 including the headers but if not then keeping everything in the headers as 7-bit ascii characters only is the better comprimise as opposed to allowing 8-bit characters that rely on EVERYONE having the same codepage which would be silly ... especially if it happens to be cp437 which caused much fuss so many, many, many years ago.
