Curiouser and curiouser!  Now it is missing in your quote of my text.  I see your CHRS kludge hasn't changed but I am wondering if it isn't your tosser.  Have you upgraded it recently?  It was working before despite the level thingy being '2'.  I can confirm that the 'ö' character exists in the original as well as here;

The text you are quoting back to me from is missing the character in question (U+00F6).  My best guess is the tosser is filtering out non-ascii characters for whatever reason.
