I believe we *should* be in the clear. If it turns out we were in the wrong then I'd conclude we got away with whatever it was that put us in the wrong. ;-)
Having said that, it would be nice to know what was wrong with how this particular chain of events played out and exactly what rules of this particuar echo was breached by anyone, especially myself. I don't buy his last stated criticism directed in your direction. I believe you handled yourself admirably and that he is at fault ergo owing you an apology for his lack of judgement, if indeed any apologies are required.
