I think this whole discussion started because there are tables that are supposed to translate to UTF-8 included with Golded's source. While I'm in a full UTF-8 console environment currently, those translation tables don't work probably, which is why I questioned it in the first place. As soon as I reply to the message, though, I shell out of Golded to nano as my external editor, where all the characters display perfectly.
I was just questioning if those translation tables were working properly.
