Well that would explain a lot. So for my limited understanding, the current tables that convert most used codepages to UTF-8 aren't converting to multibyte characters then? And if that is the case, that's why I'm not able to read most exotic characters in Golded, but can as soon as I shell to my console editor?

I usually do. The only reason I've used them in the past has been for testing purposes only, though I guess I kinda let the cat out of the bag in my last reply to you regarding my last name. :)
