yes, there was an empty ^A line and that no-archive line but i don't think that specifically came because of nntp... IIRC, it is place specifically because some systems present posts as news and/or html in which case the line is then hopefully honored and not retained by archiving systems like google or possibly even the wayback machine...

yes it definitely was and it contained (at least) the two nodes that some of uli's posts showed that were discussed in FIDONEWS or FN_SYSOP (i don't remember which area)...
