not if the mailers were fixed to properly support it ;)

what it really comes down to is the most commonly used mailer in today's FTNs is a ""bit"" more than a "protocol driver" like was used back in the day to add transfer protocols to software... FTS-0001 and the added on protocols work just fine over the internet... at worst some of their timing may need to be relaxed to account for the non-dedicated path between systems but over all, they work fine... my frontdoor nodes seems to handle all procotols in a telnet or vmodem tunnel with ease...

don't get me wrong, though... binkp is a good protocol and binkd is a good mailer... it is just not a full featured mailer with scheduler, mail qualifer, easy to view status screens, easy means of redirecting mail from one system to another, etc... all the things that frontdoor, binkleyterm, argus/radius/taurus, intermail, dbridge, IRex and others easily do from their WFC (Wait For Call) console...
