I've been following this thread for some time, and I don't understand how it concerns our FTN network.
Isn't it a simple matter of how the FTN editors can handle it?
More and more of us are using e.g. Thunderbird as the editor of choice, the only editor I know that has thousands of people still working to perfect it.
I can easily copy an image into a message of mine here, and so can you when you reply to an email from your friend. The only reason I'll not demonstrate how easy it is here, is I don't want to cause any problems for all those still using archaic BBS FTN editors, often BASIC based creations by teenagers from the Fidonet heydays.
Methinks that you are trying to fix an FTN problem from 30+ years ago, and that'll only concern those who insist on using editors from that time. Why would we concern ourselves with that, rather than looking into the future?
