Ok, seems we all agree here.
So while I enjoy the discussion, it seems really more benefitial to talk about actually advancing the functionality of fidonet to keep it sort of relevant compared to other platforms. IMHO, fidonet eventually has to some extent to compare to social media platforms and particularly to reddit, as reddit seems to do for a lot of people what fido did for them in the past. And no, I certainly see no way of competing with such platforms and surely thats not the intent here. Still, each user compares the provided capabilites and that is where I see fundamental technical shortcomings.
It is my belief (in line with some of the points brought up recently), that the fidonet infratstucture should be improved (also on the software side) to - make large messages (in the order of magnitude of up to a few MB) a non-issue for most users, - enable embedding of images and (small) binary data in messages in a compatible way,
