Hello Dale,

BF> Node number 2:203/2 at the present have 87 registered users, and an
BF> unknown unregistered users. Using the node number alone to vote for or
BF> against a specific candidate "Bjerk" is *not* enough to pinpoint the
BF> actual candidate.

HD> Right.

DS> Wrong.

Thank you for your excellent explanation.

HD> And of course there are many (un)registered BBS-users.
HD> 2:203/2.0 could be any one of that BBS-users (SysOp included).
HD> So a NodeNumber alone does not specify a certain person,
HD> and therefor can not be a valid indicator for a FTSC candidate!
HD> Simple he?

DS> But the sysop of that node number would be the only one eligible to be
DS> on the FTSC.

Off Course, but there is no sysop Bjerk (without a surname) nodelisted.

HD> One votes only for or against a candidated human being (FidoNet
HD> participant) as a FTSC member,
HD> and not a nodelisted SysOp, Point or (un-)registerd BBS-user by only a
HD> number, or a false name.

DS> One can only vote for a nodelisted sysop, according to the rules.

Right.
And is Bjerk a nodelist sysop?

HD> My Point Zero proof shows your RC18 p.o.v. is hereby not
HD> valid for a complaint.

DS> Your proof is false.

DS>
DS>   To be selected as a FTSC member, an individual must be a Fidonet
DS>   node, and should be actively involved in Fidonet. Examples include
DS>   having put out a Fidonet-related product or having updated a product
DS>   in the preceding two years, or having experience as a Coordinator,
DS>   Echomail Coordinator or mail or file Hub.
DS>
Thanks for the quote, I did not know that.
But that does not mean a nodenumer is uniquely couppled to a SysOp only.

And second, "Bjerk" is not nodelist.

Both the candidates name and nodenumber should be right.
The reason to mandate that is because there could be more persons with almost the same name or in more zones.
Se it like a locker at the bank, there are also two keysneeded.
If one is wrong or incomplete, the locker shall not open.

Hm, as you are writing via BW, you are a BBS user too ;-).
That shows my p.o.v. that BBSusers are also alowed to write and vote
if they were a RC.

Henri.
