Well, it was a 4 Mhz processor. You could string 4 together, without slowing any of them down. And it only had a Tiny basic. Doing a rewrite of olded is quite a challenge.
On the other hand, I have been busy installig the Fidonet software I use to a Rapsberry Pi, a little gadget with an Amrm processor.
So far I have what I use for the main node, and what I use for the pointsystem I use to communicate.
So now I have as a hostsystem: Binkd - IPv6 capable Fidogate Makenl_ng - As a Pointsystem Binkd Hpt Golded+ - It is now getting the full echofeed from my main node, to see get some action. I intend to bring it on line in a mode, that will be the future for many of us, now that glasfibre is at the frontdoor for many of us.
IP only with a public IPv6 address for incoming and outgoing traffic and natted IPv4 for outgoing traffic only.
And all this, with less than 5 Watts power consumption and the size of a package of cigarettes.
