I can only agree to that as well. We learn every time and most after some incident. I think from last years election the lesson was, that pushing a not fully supported character set was not a smart thing to do.
The lessen for this year is clearly for the Chairman not be be involved in the process. That could also have been learned from the previous election, but was overshadowed by the charset incident.
I have not followed any FTSC elections before that, but if the curent procedure seems just a repeat from many others, the procedure seems to have been acceptable for many years.
