Some others will see the characters properly displayed on their screen, some will see garbage, depending on their configuration. Either way they will be able to copy and paste the names, but they will not know how to pronounce them.
What is the practical difference with the situation as it is? I see many names here that, although written in the Latin alfabet, I do not know how to pronounce. You may transcode your name into the Latin alfabet, but that does not tell me how to properly pronounce it. I can not tell if the last syllable rhymes on "day" or if it rhymes on "bee". (I can when I look at your name in Cyrillic) And it is not just transliterated Russian names that are problematic. Also (US) English names have problems.
Nicholas Boel, how do I pronounce that? As rhymes on "cool" or as rhymes on "Noel"? Ross Cassel? As the German "Kassel" or as in rhymes on "Inspector Dalziel"?
