MK> Whoa! Now there is something seldom seen in a reply to me.
You correctly noticed the presence of the byte order mark. Denial is fultile.

Cheat? How so? Why is using notepad as external editor a cheat? And if it is, does not the same apply to using any other external editor, such as nano?
MvdV>> I use Micro$oft's NOTEPAD as external editor
MK> For shame!!! Although it seems to work
It works for me.
MK> there is probably a better way
I would very much prefer to not have to use an external editor at all. I would very much prefer it if Golded's internal editor could do it. Alas, that is not he case (yet).
MK> to do the same without having to manually remove any unwanted leakage.
How so? What do you mean by "unwanted leakage"? That notepad inserts a BOM? What is the problem? A BOM can be useful as a signature to help autodetect UTF-8.
I am familiar with the nano editor. It is part of the Open-WRT package that runs on my Linksys WRT54GL router. I can not say if it is better as external editor for Golded than notepad. I never tried to use it that way.

So you have no idea if it actually works at all in a windows setup, but you nevertheless want me to abandon something that works for me, just because you THINK it is better? Hmmm...

Sucks? Perhaps. I already mentioned that I would vey much prefer it when an external editor was not needed and Golded could do it all by itself.
That leads me to the following question: Why do you think this is something that needs to be discussed with the FTSC?
I suggest we move the thread about how to make Golded properly do UTF-8 to the Golded echo.
