Ermmm... maybe you ought to apply some imagination to the notion. Like, when your computer says "it's coffee time, boss" it doesn't actually make the coffee; it's just telling you.
So, when you see Alexey's greeting and it happens to be early morning, _imagine_ it's actually saying "Good morning". Whilst not wishing to be-labour the point, it will be apparent that the same imagining exercise can be applied to any other time of day. It doesn't take long for the 'variable' to dissappear in Alexey's notes, and, for your imagination to auto-fill the appropriate time of day.
You do remember your imaginary powers, don't you?
