The only Windows version I had problems setting it up to use IPv6 was 2003 Server but I got it to work. Newer versions and Linux were setup to use IPv6 by default. Just specify the static IPv6 address, the subnet prefix length, and the default gateway in your adapter settings. Or use DHCP if an address gets assigned automatically.
