I had recently been having some connection issues and contacted my ISP support. After a lengthy online chat session I was informed that the problem was likely the DSL modem. So they sent out a tech with an "Updated" modem. Problem was that the "Updated" modem doesn't support IPv6 at all. The tech informed that the modems that support IPv6 are no longer being installed. So, it looks like I have to initiate a special request for them to send me a replacement of the same model that supports IPv6. <sigh>
Since I live a half a block (About 400ft) from the CO providing DSL service I figured I would inquire about reported Gigabyte service. I was informed that GB service IS available but that the boundry line on availability is three blocks south of me and/or about 1/2 mile west. Seems they are not offering GB service to areas where the lines are buried and only to aerial lines. So... I don't see that happening any time soon.
