Maube the hardware or firmware of that old phone does not support IPv6 and that is why you do not get an IPv6 address?
My Huawei E153 2G/3G USB dongle alledgedly does not support IPv6 either. So even if I ever run into a 2G/3G network that issues IPv6 addresses, I won't be able to use it. I will make sure that my next dongle supports IPv6 and 4G.
