I am sure it will be faster. But speed isn't everything. Have you enquired about what your new ISP has to offer regarding address space? Of course you should ask them if they offer native IPv6, but even more important is what IPv4 access they offer.
New Zealand resides under APNIC and APNIC is the first RIR to have run out of IPv4 addresses. That was four years ago on 19 April 2011. So from then on ISPs had to make do with whatever IPv4 address space they had in stock. It is not unthinkable that the ISP you have in mind no longer has IPv4 addresses available and that they will not give you a globally routable IPv4 address but an address in the private or CGNAT range.
ISPs get away with that because for most customers it is no problem. But this does not work for customers that want to run servers. So ask them!
You may end up with the doubtfull honour of being the first Fidonet sysop that runs a true IPv6 only node.

Then ask them!
If they do not offer native IPv6 yet, it is no big deal. You can run a tunnel. There is he.net and SIxXs. He.net are easy, but you must have a globally routable IPv4 address. SixXs offers a tunnel type called AYAIYA that can be run from behind a NAT. So you can even have full IPv6 connectivity without a globally routable IPv4 address. Unfortunately the SixXs head honcho, Jeroen Massaar is a bit of a character...

If they do offer IPv6, ask them what type. Full dual stack, dual stack light, 6RD, etc, etc.
