Hello Björn,

On Sunday January 17 2016 15:55, you wrote to me:

Those will have to be replaced anyway to upgrade to VDSL and VDSL+ in order to keep up...

What is the alternative? Here the adsl providers still manage to compete with the cable guys, despite that the cable has higher potential than the old twisted pair designed for analog telephony.

Fiber is coming, but not all that fast as yet. Digging again to lay the cables is still a huge investment and they haven't milked the copper (coax and twisted pair) to the last drop yet.

Sure, adsl will be on the way out.. eventually. But I would not write it off yet. Maybe the situation is different in Sweden, but here the ISPs have no plans to dig up the copper. I doubt they will just leave it to rot either.  So they will continue with adsl for a while. And that means, they will have to offer IPv6 as well.

There are several dsl providers here that offer native IPv6. Ask Wilfred. Ask Kees.

Cheers, Michiel
