For compatibility with certain broken segment processors, nodelist maintainers must limit all lines to at most 157 characters (plus terminator). It is very likely this limitation will be removed in the future, therefore future software implementations should be able to process lines of up to 1024 characters, and individual fields of up to 255 characters (unless otherwise specified).
Я, конечно, понимаю, что 157 - тоже много, но заставь дурака богу молиться...
