When I ran a multi-line BBS in 1994, I had three lines, but only one line was ever published. The telephone company had a "ring-sequence" plan whereas if the line was busy, the call would rollover to the next available line.
Therefore... only one listing was ever needed.
It is only the Napoleons that need to list multiple phone lines... mailer software (at the time) does not automatically re-route the Netmail destined for a system to the next nodelisted entry just because the line was busy.
