A question about the word grandfather.

   In Swedish we have morfar as mother's father and farfar as father's father. Similarily mormor and farmor for the women.

   TTBOMK there is no other fairly "major" language with this distinction in one word. Not even Danish or Norwegian.

   Well there is of course opa and oma (what is it for the "other side, BTW?) in German...
