Oh yes, we've known that often happens. At least some of us do. My wife had to have some emergency treatment on her teeth once while we were staying in France. The dentist over there told her that she would need an E112 form and then the UK NHS would pay for her treatment.

When she applied for one she was told that the E112 didn't exist and that she was thinking of the E111. But my wife was persistent and after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing she managed to get them to admit that it did exist and was asked how on earth had she heard about it. Yes, they do deliberately mislead us when it suits them. So what's new? The end of the story was that she got her teeth paid for by the NHS!

But we've always known that the British government tells us that things are insisted upon by the EU when it's the British government's decision, or often the civil servants who are too lazy to look things up and say the first thing that comes into their heads. Yours is just a typical example.

Doesn't your government do the same? Or are they more clever at covering things up?

Oh well, maybe hell will freeze over and we will get our referendum. I still don't fancy the cat's chances, though.

David
