I never watched that but I do remember that the teacher was played by John Alderton, an actor whom I much admired. But I did forget to mention "Fawlty Towers".

It pleases me that I have stirred your memory, but I don't think you have much to be ashamed of. I think we all do that as we get older. I shudder at some of the things I have said and written in the past. How did I manage to be so naïve?
Oh dear, I really ought to go and do some work out in the garden and not sit here tied to my computer!
