Well, I heard a different version of that story which claims he was completely misrepresented, but I've no means of knowing which version was true. Something similar happened to me on one occasion in Region 25 though it didn't involve money but it did cause me to have to resign as RC25 on my first stint. When was that? About 1991, I think.
But never mind, ya takes yer pick and ya makes yer choice! :-)
