I hadn't thought about that either. I don't suppose that the remaining twenty-seven countries would ever agree on which it should be. If English was chosen because it was the most widely spoken language in the world, then Spanish should be the next choice. I heard once that the number of Spanish speakers worldwide is greater than even English.
But I was told that by a teacher of Spanish! ;-)
