AV> It was great approx. 5 years ago, but now the 8 Gb RAM (maximum
AV> supported by Celeron N3350) is the absolute minimum even for a workstation.

Minimum what? My XP server (2 GB RAM and an AMD 2,9 MHz processor) still works perfectly well, as a workstation it would be even more than adequate.

Of course this is not state of the art, compared to other new computers. But for 77EUR, what do you get for that kind of money? That's even less than a medium grade graphics card.

I'm not into gaming, I use my computers for more important tasks. :)

AV> Besides N3350, this device also has 6 Gb RAM and 64 Gb SSD - but, most
AV> likely, non-upgradable (have you already looked inside?).

6 GB is more than enough for me, being used to coop with 2 GB for 20 odd years. And no, saving space, there's no room for memory cards. There is a SATA SSD space, and then of course two USB 3 connections for external drives, I have a 2 TB now, because even 64 GB is not much when the Win10 install itself takes up more than 25 GB.

I have it connected to my 50" TV with perfect 5.1 audio and 4K video. No touch pads for keyboard and mouse, just regular keyboard/mouse input.

And it takes an average of 5 W, peaking at 20 W, idling at 2 W. No noisy fan, yet still not hot. Smaller than a regular book. I just love it.

AV> Installing
AV> some Linux-based system would give this device 3...5 years of active work.

You mean one should retire fully functioning computers after just a few years? Why? What "active work" are they suddenly unable to perform?
