Actually no, and here's the short version:

The very (sorry) long version:
Unlike what some religious fanatics have tried to convince us all, this has nothing to do with a guy who allegedly died after crucifixion and then miraculously resurrected.
As most of us know, however heinous crucifixion is, nobody (unfortunately) dies after just half a day. It usually takes much longer than that. Ergo: if the victim is taken down the same afternoon, it will take just from e.g. Friday to Sunday to be well enough to walk away.
As most of us also know, the date is decided by the moon and the spring equinox.
Originally, before the priests wanted us to abandon our (all over the world) heathen old habits, it was simply a celebration of springtime yet again returning, thus leaving the dark cold days behind.
So we celebrate with joy, not mourning. Easter Bunny, Easter egg, and in Sweden påskris (Easter twigs) and påskkärringar (Easter Witches).
Påskris is twigs of birch, that we put in water, cover with chicken feathers and egg, and then wait for it to go green, usually within a week or so, thus "speeding up" spring.
Påskkärringar is boys and girls dressing up like small cute witches, ready to fly to Blåkulla, which we up here know is their destination when they want to meet the Devil in the early spring..
