Actually Windows 10 will run 32-bit programs and Windows 11 will continue to do that. However Turnpike, the mail client I have been using, won't run on a 64-bit machine because of its interface with File Explorer, which I why I've been running some 32-bit machines - just for mail!
I tried Thunderbird some years ago and, although it worked well, I couldn't get on with the display. But now it does seem to be a lot more flexible and I've spent the last couple of days trying to get it to look the way I want it. In fact, now I'm getting used to it there are a lot of things which Thunderbird does far better than Turnpike. Well, Turnpike stopped development about twenty years ago. I started using it just after the last update came out!
