Well, I live quite close to Hanover (Lower Saxony), and people from around here played some role in the British history of that time. ;-) So although traditionally Britain usually is not much of a topic in German history classes, my English teacher of several years (who was, btw, married to a woman from Scotland) somehow felt like he had to fill that gap during our English lessons.
