I was using this citation to make clear that the time Ward was referring to is so far from any reality we're facing today, it could even be from the StarWars universe. I wish I could say something different, but that's the situation we have: No government bothers censoring FidoNet, because there is nothing that matters to them to deal with in here. And if they shut down the internet, they'll anyways pretty much shut down FidoNet, too, because it heavily relies on available internet connection and technology these days.
