The law for passport control in enshrined in international law any country within the EU and for that matter the EU would be in breach. Also do not think they would want to play that game - it is a two edged sword. Be totally daft.
I am not going to get into any back and forth on this as any country wishing to be bloody minded can still cause problem.
Luckily my next trip is to Israel in December by which time any Air traffic issues will be sorted as Europe does not want problems as the UK - it will cost far too much to avoid in flight time and therefore fuel and hence final ticket pricing.
Luckily I do have a master catch out - I can alway hire a fast bird and fly my family there and back with only a slight detour of a few hundred miles and 30 minutes which wind wise, I might do any way to reduce time and therefore fuel burn and hire costs.
Would by cost prefer commercial it would work out cheaper but if needed . . . > It will be terra incognito.
