Or can fly direct avoiding EU airspace but there again is the EU going to refuse a/c flying over the UK access to their airspace - I do not think so.
There again stay above FL200 and there will be no problems with minimum conversation with the ground apart from being passed on to the next control zone etc. This will get charges if flying IFR though for navigation etc but going VFR will be zero.
They would end up with a lot more problems based on all the traffic that goes across from europe and avoiding that would cost the airlines a lot of money in fuel, wear and tear of aircraft. Have a fealing they would be a mite annoyed!
As for flying to a country not belonging to the EU they cannot interfer as they have zero control !
Suggest you look up the rules and regulations from ICAO onwards!!
