Right the Star system (amended) is a basic replacement for the FileGate file distribution system that has been running for over 20 years. As these systems are also Hubs they also carry echo areas.
This is NOT different that outlined in the document you supplied above.
The amended Star system at least for the moment passes between the echos and files as they come in although hopefully the files will flow through me at least for a while) while echos will continue to do so with the hope that the seenby's will work and Dups will get binned.
This is NO DIFFERENT than has been going on for years. It is NOT (not the above text file) a fidoweb service - I thought some one was offering both through a website which breaks Policy 4 as far as I remember = yes it has been many years since I read it !
