I know of least two FidoNet SysOp's who have a Point adres at their home system using a BinkP capable mailer on their laptop or Raspberry Pi when they are on the move. So no HotdogEd or AfterShock needed, nor in practise nor in theory ;-). Unluckily 4G mobile systems do not have a fixed IPv4 address, but when IPv6 is layd out, it could be possable to have fixed IP-address, if I am right? After that mobile Points can be upgraded to Nodes, and move anywhere?

Long distance for a Point on the other side of that great water. But I donot think a sailor has WiFi on the whole route between USA and EU at the Atlantic ocean. A Link via Iridium satelite is rather expensive. Good luck in connections with pleasure.
