It's against my nature to waste banthwidth like that (although there is plenty).
Compressing the list one time costs some cpu cycles, but saves bandwidth multiple times, because Ward sends it out multiple times. That will save some energie, and that should speak to Ward!

That's like the nodediff (only send the changed parts). But you shouldn't overcomplicate things. A simple compession step in the process is easy to accomplish, and keeps the advantages of sending the whole list...
