SM>> I may be wrong, but some AreaFixes read the message just before SM>> tearline.
MvdV> You are right. Areafix robots usually read the commands up to the MvdV> tearline. (if present) The tearline marks where the areafix commands MvdV> stop and where the user text BEGINS.
My understanding was and still is, that the areafix commands end with the keyword "END" and if omitted, the areafix processor looks for the "END" keyword, till it finds the tearline. If it is not found when reaching the tearline, that postion is considered the end of the areafix commands.
MvdV> A perfect example of of a case where invalidating a tear line is NOT MvdV> a MvdV> good idea.
The tearline indicates the end if the message. There can be no tearlines in the middle of a message. There can be no exceptions to a message structure to satisfy needs of areafix.
If you wnat to add text to an Areafix message, it should be placed between the "END" keyword and the tearline.
