MvdV>> So I wish whoever succeeds Theresay May good luck. He/she is going MvdV>> to need it.
DR> If Boris becomes Prime Minister he has already said that he won't ask DR> for a further extension to Article 50
While Boris Johnson is the #1 preferitus, it is no done deal is it? Other than that, all remainig 27 member states must agree to an article 50 extension and that is not likely to happen. So 31 Octoner will probalbly the final deadline anyway.
DR> and there are many who feel this is going to result in a no-deal DR> Brexit.
May's resignation has not reduced the chance of a no deal Brexit. I would say that it is still the most likely outcome.
DR> Well, there are those who believe that a no-deal won't be the disaster DR> that some predict.
A no deal scenario is bad for all, but continuing the uncertainty is also bad. Plus that a lot of damage has already been done. Irreversible decisons have aleady been made. The EMA is moving from London to Amsterdam. That will not be reversed even if the Brexit is cancelled. Dyson and Nissan will probably leave after Brexit. Hard or soft. Sony. Panasonic, Airbus, Jaguar Land Rover and P&O are also moving. Same for Ford an Honda. DR> Out of all those who have signified they intend to stand, only Boris DR> has sufficient charisma. That is what Theresa May lacked. But the DR> British tend not to trust those who do have charisma.
The people of the UK will have to make choices. If they do not, the choices will be made for them by others...
