Hello Björn,

On Monday May 27 2019 12:46, you wrote to Kees van Eeten:

Binkd does not use the nodelist at all. Binkd has its own config while from which it extracts the information.

It is your nodelist to binkd config convertor that accepts it. Or the binkp.net convertor of you use the binkd.net method. The fact that they do it that way does not mean that the rules are followed.

This is what FTS-5000 says:

   Pvt
This keyword defines a Private node (see Policy v4.07,
Section 2.1.9) - i.e. a node that is operational, but
not publicly available for direct contact. When this keyword
is used, field six should contain the string "-Unpublished-".

In case the coordinator's nodelist processing software does
not allow the use of "-Unpublished-" without the Pvt keyword,
this keyword may also be used to list an internet only node.

Versions of MakeNl that allow "-Unpublished-" without Pvt have been available for DOS, Windows, OS/2 and Linux for well over a decade. Don't you think we have reached the point where there is no excuse for NC's still using a version of MakNl that forces them to use the old method of listing IP only nodes as Pvt?

Cheers, Michiel
