1) Our governments have never been anti-EU. 2) It happens that when an EU directive has a unforeseen negative side effect, they say "sorry EU directive". And then forget to mention that it was them that voted in favour of it or even initiated it when it seemed a good idea at the time. 3) Blaming somethng on the EU when it is not, like the example I gave is extemeley rare here.
