I don't think so, but there is a place (more than one actually) in France called Verteuil.
What thos weho only know Englisch in the written form is that, "Reading" as in the name of David's home town, has nothing to do with the opposote of "writing".
The name of the place is pronounced "Redding" as in "Otis Redding". The first syllable is "red" as in the colour.
So the French counterpart could be "Verteuil". ("vert" is Fench for "green")
