MvdV>> I have a so called "PIN card". I can pay almost everywhere with MvdV>> it and the amount is directly deducted from my bank account. MvdV>> Since the EU got involved, it works in the entire Euro zone, MvdV>> without any extra cost. No need fo a credit card...
WV> I think it's called a debit card in the rest of the world. ;)
It is my understanding that a debit card is preloaded with an amount. Like a wallet. The "Chipknip" and "Chipper"cards we once had come to mind. Meant for paying small amounts.
MvdV>> That risk is substantially lower with the "PIN card" system. MvdV>> That card never leaves my posession. When it is stolen it is MvdV>> pretty useless without the PIN code.
WV> Unless you have enabled wireless transactions on your card. Then WV> anyone can spend upto 25 Euros per transaction upto 50 Euros in total WV> without entering the PIN code.
