1) In general I think it is not good practice to put the burden of compensating for choking software anywhere other than on the one that causes the problem. There may be pragmatic reasons to deviate from this position. F.e if many suffer from the problem. But this should not be the general case.
2) In the case of a PING robot, there is the unique situation that the only one who is affected by it, is also the one that is the cause of the poblem. The one who receives the robot's response is also the one initiating it. So to those I would say:
If you have problems with my ping robot not invalidating tear lines and origin lines:
1) Stop using older versions of D'Broke or other software that chokes on it. 2) Do not add an oigin line to ping requests. Origin lines do not belong in netmail anyway. 3) If tear lines are problemetic, do not add a tearline to ping requests. They have no function fo that use anyway. 4) If all that is not possible, stop using my ping robot.
