English is not my native language either but I have lived and worked in a country where English was a native language. That helps a lot.
And indeed, PING robots are not obliged to return the message in full. In fact I know of a PING robot so spartanic that it only returns the VIA lines.
Be that as it may be, I do not see how arguing about semantics is going to convince me that PING robots should invalidate tear lines and origin lines. For that I need a clear technical reason...
