It certainly interests me. I know him from 20 years ago and he is a potential IPv6 node. I tried to contact him but so far he is not responding to crash netmail.

Oh c'mon. A net with seven (7!) sysops does not need a hub, let alone a backbone. The Netherlands with nine sysops does fine without a hub. If you need a hub to prevent the country from dropping off the nodelist, you are doing something wrong.

Licensing reasons? Like "backbones" licensed software is a thing of the past. It is perfectly possible to run a fully fledged Fidonet system on free open source software. Both on Windows and Linux.
