Dear sir ... there's no reason to become rude now.
I have devoured Tolkien at a time when I had to go to a bookstore, order 'The Hobbit" ("Who? Tolkien?" "What 'The Hobbit'?" "The Lord of the Rings?") and then wait for 3 weeks.
As a matter of fact, I started reading the books after I bought a vinyl LP by a Swede named Bo Hansson entitled "Sagan om ringen" ... just because I liked the jacket. Then I listened to it and knew "I have to read the books, whatever they are about".
I will never even touch a Harry Potter book...
