I would be very saddened if because of these events I will be unable to visit Moscow at least once in my lifetime ... I think it's an interesting place for a tourist.
I have no problem with individual Russians, it must be an odd heritage from Tsaristic times that some still want to build a Grand Empire ... and you are so right ... build an innovative economy and trade with other nations. It's what stopped EU-countries from fighting eachother.
And Fidonet has set the example ... Russians saved it ... at least for the time being ... with binkd ...
