Karel,

AK> Yes -- unless you reject that international law exists at all.

AK> Unfortunately, the latter point of view becomes more and more popular.

The concept of "international law" is something misterious. Who decides upon it?  Who supervises it? Who acts upon it? Who rules upon it? Who enforces it?

Specific countries who have breached repeatedly what it is considered "international law" are the USA, the Russian Federation, the UK, France and China. So when they do they always throw the middle finger and then "what"?

Wait a minute ... these 5 countries also are the permanent members of the UN Security Council ...

International law you say?

There are international conventions on gas weapons, cluster ammunition, land mines, ... I'm pretty certain each of these 5 countries have stockpiled them and you don't do that without the intent of ever using them.

The US has invaded more territory than any other nation except the Romans (and they did it on foot), the Russian Federation has also invaded countries, China's human rights situation is appaling, France has sponsored state terrorism ... International law you say?

In times of war, there is no international law. It's kill or be killed and it doesn't matter if it's by a HiMars, a 16th century Venetian canon, a gas bomb, a potatoe cutting knife ...
