The political problems of any country usually are misterious to all other countries.
For example the debating culture in the Netherlands, the so-called "Polder Model" is something unique. It makes sense from their historical background.
And Belgium ... a certain press regularly regurgitates the hostility between the Flemish and the Walloons ... except there isn't any. Our 2 past and the current Prime Minister are Walloons doing a pretty good job IMO.
Once you cross a border, there's a complete different line of thinking supported by history.
